Session 1730, Minutes <br />August 17, 1998 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING <br />TO STREETS AND SIDEWALKS, BY REPEALING SECTION 28-5 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO STREET, ETC., EXCAVATIONS-GENERALLY; PERMIT; DEPOSIT, <br />AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION <br />28-5. STREET, ETC., EXCAVATIONS-GENERALLY; PERMIT; BOND;" THEREBY <br />AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ESTABLISH NEW EXCAVATION PERMIT <br />REQUIREMENTS RELATING TO APPLICATION FEES AND BONDS, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO ISSUE PERMITS FOR <br />EXCAVATIONS ON PRIVATE STREETS, ETC.; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE <br />AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned no. 8401. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS: <br /> <br />Ms. Lotrye Wheeler, 6750 Chamberlain, is here tonight to find out what could be done <br />about getting her street cleaned and the trees tdmmed. She said that her street was <br />one of the most beautiful in the City. The trees have dead branches and they are falling <br />on cars. The street needs to be swept, as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked Mr. Ollendofff to look into this matter and then follow up with Ms. <br />Wheeler. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved that Council adjourn to Executive Session to discuss real estate <br />and legal issues at 8:00 p.m. in room 6 on the second floor of City Hall. Mr. Munkel <br />seconded motion. AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. <br />Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced the next regular meeting for the City Council would be on <br />August 31st, same time and place. Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 7:58 p.m. <br /> <br /> i <br /> <br /> <br />
