Thhe City isssued a Reequest for Qualifications (RFQ) for <br />architecttural and eengineeringg (A&E) seervices for the Fire SStation projject. Six ffirms <br />respondded and werre evaluateed on the foollowing criteria outlineed in the RFFQ. <br />1)QQualificationns of the firmm <br />2)EExperience wwith similarr projects <br />3)KKey project personnel <br />4)SServices to be providedd <br />5)HHourly ratess of all persoonnel <br />6)EEstimatedwwork scheduule and timeeline <br />7)AAbility to meeet minority/female woorker requireement <br />At the NNovember 116, 2009 Ciity Council meeting, thhe Council approvedmoving forwward <br />with Arcchimages foor project ddesign. Thhe City neggotiated coosts with thhe firm andd the <br />result is the attached contractt for approvval, which hhas been aapproved byy legal counsel. <br />The cost of these sservices aree reimbursaable by the grant. <br />Archimaages has worked with 24 cities aand fire disttricts for deesign servicces. They have <br />submitteed a quick timeline peer our request and haave well quaalified stafff. The Cityy has <br />positiveexperiencee with this ffirm as theyy designed the renovaation of Fire House #2,, and <br />supporteed the City during a difficult consttruction proocess on that project . <br />RECOMMMENDATION: <br />Stafff recommennds Council authorize the City Manager to eenter <br />into a ccontract, in substantiaally the forrm attached, for archhitectural and engineeering <br />servicess for the Firee Station deesign. <br /> <br />
