The City plans to purchase these vehicles from the State of Missouri <br />contract, which was competitively bid, with Don Brown Chevrolet being the local <br />dealer under the contract. The City is purchasing 4 Chevrolet Impala’s with police <br />specifications at $19,028 each, which is slightly less than the previous year <br />contract price of $19,106. The patrol car completely equipped with the required <br />options is $20,131. <br />Police vehicles used for patrol have extensive wear and tear, high mileage, plus <br />idling time. The City has stretched these vehicles from a two year replacement <br />cycle to a three year cycle. At three years, these vehicles are at the end of their <br />useful life. Following is the list of the vehicles to be replaced with mileage. <br />2007 Chevrolet Impala Marked Patrol --- 90,810 miles <br /> 2007 Chevrolet Impala Marked Patrol --- 88,461 miles <br /> 2007 Chevrolet Impala Marked Patrol --- 111,342 miles <br /> 2007 Chevrolet Impala Marked Patrol --- 105,573 miles <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />: Staff recommendspurchasing these vehicles through the <br />state contract from Don Brown Chevrolet for a total cost of $80,524. <br /> <br />
