<br />To: Honorable Mayor Adams and Council <br />From: Julie Feier, City Manager <br />Date: April 16, 2010 <br />Subject: Weekly Update <br />University City Fire Department <br /> was designated EMS-C this morning by the Pediatric <br />Subcommittee of the Missouri State Advisory Council for EMS. This designation is given <br />to all ambulance services in the state who meet guidelines for the proper pre-hospital <br />care to children. The University City Fire Department met the qualifications required <br />such as training and equipment used for treating pediatric patients. There are 216 <br />licensed ambulance services in the state and to-date only 71 are designated EMS-C. <br />Congratulations to the Fire Department for going above and beyond with the quality <br />service we provide to all individuals. <br />2010 Sculpture Series <br />Thepresented by the Municipal Arts and Letters Commission is <br />now on display through August 31. City School District will be holding a for the new Barbara C. <br />Jordan Elementary School on Tuesday, April 20 at 2:00 PM at the site of the new <br />school, 1500 82nd Boulevard. A topping out signifies the final beam to be placed in the <br />steel structure, with the beam painted so that District staff and community members <br />may sign it prior to it being placed in the structure. There will also be a time capsule <br />filled for placement later in the construction process. All members of the community are <br />invited to attend this event.
