total household income. This applies to all individuals living within a <br />household regardless of relationship. <br />a. Monetary compensation for services including wages, salary, <br />commissions for fees**; <br />b. Net income from self employment**; <br />c. Social Security; <br />d. Public assistance or welfare payments; <br />e. Alimony or child support payments; <br />f. Regular contributions from persons not living in the household***; <br />g. Other cash income. <br />* Youth enrolling in before and after-school are not required to be City of University <br />City residents but need to be enrolled at the University City elementary school <br />where the program is held. <br />** This amount is calculated as income before deductions for income taxes, <br />employees Social Security taxes, insurance premiums, bonds and other <br />employee deductions. <br />*** In applying the guidelines for university/college/post secondary students, the City <br />shall include tuition, room and board, and other related education expenses, paid <br />by the parents, guardian, and/or grant, as a regular contribution from persons not <br />living in the household. <br />II. Scholarships will be determined on a sliding scale as indicated on Table A. The <br />amount given for a qualifying scholarship will be awarded at the rate of 25%, <br />50%, or 75% off the programs adopted fee. <br />III. Scholarships are available for: <br />a. Youth before and after school programs, and city operated full day <br />recreation programs; <br />b. Scholarships for leisure education classes, lessons and senior social <br />activities will be limited to 2 (two) per person per fiscal quarter (July 1- <br />Sept 30, Oct 1-Dec 31, Jan 1-Mar 31, Apr 1-June 30); <br />c. Swimming passes and Centennial Commons memberships. <br />Affiliated Organization youth sports player fees <br />d. <br />IV. Scholarships are not available for: <br />a. Adult athletic teams <br />b. Non-Affiliated Organization youth sports player fees <br /> <br />
