<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION 2010 - 7 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an election was held in the City of University City, Missouri on April <br /> 6, 2010, pursuant to Ordinance No. 6799, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified <br /> voters a proposition to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of three million <br /> dollars ($3,000,000) for the purpose of replacing two fire pumpers, furnishing and <br /> equipping a new fire station, and renovating, expanding and improving the old fire <br /> station for use by the police department ("Proposition P"); and <br /> WHEREAS, if four-sevenths, or more of the votes cast on Proposition P by the <br /> qualified voters voting thereon were in favor of Proposition P, then it would pass; <br /> otherwise it would fail; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said election was conducted according to the laws of the State of <br /> Missouri, the City Charter, and ordinances of University City, and the rules and <br /> regulations promulgated by the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, <br /> Missouri; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 20, 2010, the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis <br /> County, Missouri, certified the results of the election, a copy of which is attached hereto <br /> and incorporated by reference; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there were 3,987 Yes votes (54.08%) and 3,385 No votes (45.92%). <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Proposition P did not receive the <br /> four-sevenths or more of the votes cast necessary for it to be declared passed, and has <br /> therefore failed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember (!!5:-4 KKEA_T moved adoption. <br /> <br /> Motion seconded by Councilmember BAR ~rE • and carried. <br /> <br /> Adopted this 22nd day of April, 2010. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> JOS L.
