Mr. Price moved to have Mayor Welsch and Mr. Crow make a list of lawyers for <br />Council to choose from to review the legality of Bill 9074, was seconded by Mr. Kraft <br />and carried unanimously. <br />fir. Price introduced <br />2. BILL 9076 - An ordinance amending Chapter 2.10 of the University City Municipal <br />Code, relating to the Department of Finance, by repealing Section 2.10.050 thereof, <br />relating to competitive bidding on city purchases and contracts, and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new section to be known as Section 2.10.050 competitive bidding on city <br />purchases and contracts and, thereby amending said section so as to increase the <br />amount at or below which competitive bids are not required from $250 to $2,000; <br />containing a savings clause and providing a penalty. <br />fir. Kraft introduced <br />3. BILL 9077 - An ordinance amending Chapter 2.58 of the University City Municipal <br />Code, relating to contracts, by repealing Section 2.58.020 thereof, relating to <br />personnel requirements with respect to employees and owners, and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new section to be known as Section 2.58.020 personnel requirements with <br />respect to employees and owners and, thereby amending said section so as to <br />increase the amount of contracts subject to certain personnel requirements from over <br />$1,000 to over $2,000; containing a savings clause and providing a penalty. <br />fir. Crow infroduced <br />4. BILL 9078 - An ordinance authorizing the City of University City, Missouri, to amend <br />the trust indenture pursuant to which its Industrial Development Revenue Bonds <br />~WINCO redevelopment corporation, Inc. project} Series 2003 in the original principal <br />amount of $5,800,000 were issued; and authorizing certain other actions in connection therewith. <br />Ms. Watson stated that Bond Counsel would be present on June 21, to address this. <br />N. CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Rod Jennings, 1306 Mt. alive <br />Mr. Jennings represented the University City High Alumni Association. He said last year the <br />City favored them with the use of the south side of Heman Park and were successful in bringing <br />about 1500 alumni and their families. an July 31, 2010, will be their seventh anniversary <br />picnic. Mr. Jennings thanked the City, Council, the School District, local businesses and the <br />entire community for their support. The financial arrangement this year will be the same as last <br />year, where the City will support the picnic with in-kind services and no hard money. He <br />mentioned Mr. Tyrone Thompson; class of 1982 had agreed to become their membership <br />chairman but sadly was murdered this weekend. This year's picnic will be dedicated to him. <br />Ms. Watson asked the Council if they would like this to appear on a future agenda. Mr. Price <br />agreed . <br />Tamara Donohoe, 7205 Dorsett Ave. <br />Ms. Donohoe asked if the City could use any of the funds to meet the City's expenses.
