The purpose of this unit would be to replace an existing unit <br />that was purchased in 2000 and is beyond its 10-year service life and becoming mechanically <br />unsound. The dump truck is used for snow plowing and salting, hauling mulch, alley clean-ups <br />and for other services provided by the Street Division. <br />Five bid responses were received. The bids tendered are as follows: <br />1 Truck centerslUVood 's Munici al Su I $ 81,800 <br />2 Truck CenterslKna heide $ 81,995 <br />3 Truck CenterslMidwest Systems $ 82,598 <br />4 Truck CenterslKranz $ 82,855 <br />5 Prairie Archwa InternationallKranz $ 83,107 <br />RECOMMENDATION: Public Works recommends awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, Truck <br />Centers Inc and Woolly's Municipal Supply for $81,800.
