City of <br />University <br />COY <br />Council Agenda Item Cover <br />MEETING DATE: June 21, 2010 <br />AGENDA ITEM TITLE: Annual Tire Bid <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? : No <br />BACKGROUND REVIEW: The City advertised for bids for the estimated <br />amounts of various sized tires for the City's fleet and twelve vendors were <br />solicited. Four vendors responded and the bid results are as follows: <br />Com an Tires <br />MFR Tire $37,872.00 <br />Cross Midwest Tire $39,224.40 <br />Froesel Tire Non-responsive <br />Tucker Tire Did not bid on all tires <br />Froesel Tire Company submitted a bid of $34,959.34 but did not provide prices <br />for the tires specified in the bid. Their bid was considered non-responsive. <br />Tucker Tire submitted a bid of $19,699.60, but did not submit bids for the police P225/60R16 tires. Their bid for the other tires specified was higher than MFR <br />and Cross Midwest Tire. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the contract be awarded to the <br />lowest bidder, MFR Tire at $37,872.00. <br />June 21, 2010 I-6-1 <br />
