<br /> <br /> MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR SESSION <br />November 8, 2010 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, on <br />Monday, November 8, 2010. Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In <br />addition to Mayor Welsch, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Steven Kraft <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Ms. Lynn Ricci and Mr. Byron Price were excused. <br />Also in attendance was City Manager Lehman Walker. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch introduced Council’s Student Representative, Rachel Sobotka. Ms. Sobotka is a <br />senior at University City High School and is the school representative for the City Council this <br />school year. <br /> <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to amend and approve the agenda. He was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and <br />the motion carried unanimously. The amended agenda included the postponement of Council’s <br />Pledge Resolution and the State of the School District update by Superintendent Joylynn <br />Wilson. <br /> <br />D. PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. <br />October 11, 2010, Study Session minutes as amended were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe and carried unanimously <br />2. <br />October 18, 2010, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe and <br />carried unanimously <br />3. <br />October 18, 2010, Regular Council Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />F. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />David Olander was nominated to the Commission on Human Relations by Mt. Kraft. He <br />was seconded by Mr. Glickert and the nomination carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br />1. <br />Jackie Womack was sworn in to the Traffic Commission <br /> <br />2. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br /> <br />Nadeem Siddiqui, 7210 Washington <br />Mr. Siddiqui stated that he, his wife and their three dogs they adopted from the Humane <br />Society moved from Texas to University City about a year ago. They were unaware of the City <br />codes that permitted only two dogs per household. Mr. Siddiqui said his wife is in the Air Force <br />was deployed and will be back home in June 2011 and asked for an extension so he could find <br />a right home for the third dog, find a way to keep them or move where they can keep all three <br />dogs. Mayor Welsch asked Mr. Walker to be back in touch with Mr. Siddiqui. <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
