<br /> <br /> MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR SESSION <br />October 4, 2010 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, on <br />Monday, October 4, 2010. Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In <br />addition to Mayor Welsch, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Steven Kraft <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Also in attendance was City Manager Lehman Walker. <br /> <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Tentative agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />D. PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. <br />September 20, 2010, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe and <br />carried unanimously <br />2. <br />September 20, 2010, Regular Council Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />F. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Daniel Rayhawk was nominated by Mayor Welsch to the L.C.R.A. (Land Clearance <br />Redevelopment Authority), was seconded by Mr. Glickert and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br />1. <br />Joy Wade was sworn in to the Arts and Letters Commission <br /> <br />H. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave <br />Mr. Dockett want to acknowledge the great work of Marva Miller did for the University City <br />School’s Proposition U that passed with a 68 percent of voters voting for it. She was the <br />chairperson of the fund raising committee and did an excellent job. <br /> <br />Randy Jotte, 120 Orchard Ave, Webster Groves <br />th <br />Mr. Jotte was present to introduce himself as a candidate running for the 5 District of the St. <br />Louis County Council and to listen to the matters that University City has on hand. <br /> <br />Jacqueline Cox, 8693 Old Town Dr. <br />Ms. Cox noted that she was a freshman at Cardinal Ritter College Prep. She has been in U <br />City Schools most of her life but like a lot of kids her age, transferred out of the district before <br />freshman year. She is very aware of the youth violence and students lack of interest in their <br />education. In spite of this there are students in University City that would like to get involved to <br />help better our school district and the City but there are little opportunities for them to get <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
