Opening Round <br />a. St. Louis University “Sustainability Matters” seminars – every Wednesday for six weeks, 7:30 – <br />10 a.m. <br />b. Lois met with Anne Klein, the Energy Sustainability Director for St. Louis County. She is <br />interested in what University City is doing; there is a possibility of being involved in pilot <br />projects. <br />c. Jerry reported on the St. Louis Audubon program, Audubon Home, based on a rating system <br />program in Portland to improve outdoor environments. They would like to have U City <br />participate as a test community. Training for volunteers (both educators and evaluators) will be <br />provided. http://conservation.audubon.org/programs/audubon-home. The program emphasizes <br />collaborating with other organizations, such as US Green Building Council (USGBC), American <br />Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), nurseries and growers, MSD. Linda & Jerry will follow <br />up. <br />2. The October meeting minutes were approved. <br />3. It was reported that $25,000 is available in the City budget for an energy audit. Lynnette will investigate <br />next steps to write a Request for Proposals, obtain proposals and implement the energy audit. <br />4. The committee will recruit more members so that we can create working groups. Suggestions are to <br />publicize the committee via the U City website, via neighborhood signage, and through the Mayor’s <br />weekly report. <br />5. May 29 & 30, 2011- U City Carnival in Heman Park. The GPC should have a booth. Tentative times are <br />Sunday 2-9 p.m. and Monday TBA. <br />6. The GPC plans to sponsor two River des Peres clean-up days in 2001, dates TBD. <br />7. The GPC cannot meet with other municipalities in an official capacity. We are to notify Lynnette if we <br />would like to meet with other communities. <br />8. East-West Gateway Council of Governments has received a $4.6 million planning grant. Lynnette, Jerry <br />and Mayor Welsch will investigate how University City can be involved, especially with respect to <br />stormwater projects. <br />9. Items tabled to the December meeting: <br />a. Follow up action items from Sustainability Plan study session. Committee members to submit any <br />report revisions to Lois. Report will be revised, issue as “final” and posted on website. <br />b. Commission Draft Ordinance review <br /> <br />
