<br />Arts & Letters Commission Minutes <br /> : December 11, 2007 <br /> <br />Attending: Robert Bernstein Shirley LaFlore <br />Julie Bianchi Barbara Santoro <br />Adelia Castro Calla Smorodin <br />Marilyn Cathcart Daniel Talonn <br />Lisa Greening <br /> <br />Excused: Lisa Mandel <br /> Creda Stewart <br />Claire Hyman <br /> <br />Staff Liaison: Tom McCarthy <br />City Council Liaison: Stefany Brot <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:08 at Centennial Commons by Calla Smorodin. <br />Calla introduced new commission member Shirley LaFlore. <br /> <br />Introductions <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Daniel Talonn moved approval, Adelia Castro seconded and the minutes were approved <br />with corrections—Jennifer Stokes is in charge of Movies in the Park and Lisa Greening <br />was slated for Treasurer. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Report <br />No report was given. Lisa G. is coordinating transfer of files from Lisa Mandel and will <br />meet with Janet Watson (U. City financial officer) to make sure computer programs are <br />compatible. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Stefany Brot reported on the joint Council/School Board meeting, the new single stream <br />recycling, citizen concerns with Washington U.’s purchase of single family residences in <br />U. City. <br /> <br />Committee Reports: <br />Returning Artist <br />Calla reported that plans are progressing for the visit of Raymond Thomas ’84. Press <br />releases have been sent out, Traci Moore-Clay has donated graphics for post card and <br />poster. Calla will explore the possibility of showing Mr. Thomas’ film at the reception. <br /> <br />Sculpture Series <br />Adelia, Julie Bianchi and Robert Bernstein will meet this month to pass along <br />information from the Washington U. faculty. We are reminded that the student <br />th <br />presentations (about 18) will take place on January 28 and 29 at the Commons, 6-10 <br /> <br />
