<br />Photo Show <br /> - Chairperson absent. As above, Calla provided the Commission with the <br />history of and the recent growth spurts the committee has experienced in the past year. <br /> The Photo Show will now be presented in the fall starting this year, 2008. The Photo <br />Show usually provides images for our community calendar, however, 2009 University <br />City Calendar will carry images created by University City Arts Camp participants. <br /> <br /> This is a transitional change that allows the images selected for this falls (opening <br />reception and the Centennial Commons, 2p.m., October 19, 2008) exhibition to be ready <br />for publication in the 2010 calendar. <br /> <br />Starlight Concert Series <br /> - Calla gave history and summary of purpose and roles each <br />member of the Commission plays and the role of the City Manager, who usually selects <br />the bands to approach for the season. <br /> <br />Kim Chilton volunteered to work on this committee. <br /> <br />st <br />Movies in the Park <br /> - Chairperson, Jennifer Stokes reports: the 1 movie of the season <br />will be show in Heman park. Later in the summer, one will be shown poolside at <br />Centennial Commons. A list of movies such as the “Whiz” was suggested. May $5 to <br />Aug 25 no Disney movies can be shown. <br />Lisa Greening suggested that the committee get the movie list to area schools before <br />school ends. <br /> Calla suggested, “SIGN BOARDS be placed strategically to announce upcoming <br />movies. <br />Claire Hyman expressed need to gather information for public relation work to get info <br />out about work of the commission that needs to be part of public knowledge. “Movies” <br />is new – not on events calendar. Tom will look into media releases for announcements <br />about this new project. <br />st <br />Lisa suggested we keep advertising simple for 1 year and focus on University City <br />residents with information to the Central West End later. <br /> <br />Sculpture <br />- Written report provided members by Co-Chairperson Adelia Parker-Castro. <br />Attached to minutes. Sculpture committee meeting open to Commission members April <br />9, 2008, 4 p.m. at the home of Calla Smorodin. <br />Calla gave brief history as previously given on other committees. <br />Dan Martin asked whether students were required to produce receipts prior to <br />disbursement of funds. Response was “no”. And whether anyone could attend the <br />meeting with the Professors from the Washington University Sculpture Department, Ron <br />Fondaw, and Ron Laux? <br />Calla explained that the meeting with Washington University Sculpture Department <br />should be the chairs of the sculpture committee, Calla, and the professors only. <br /> <br />Daniel Talon moved to adjourn <br />Lisa Greening seconds the motion. <br /> <br /> <br />
