<br />ARTS AND LETTERS COMMISSION MINUTES – Jan. 13, 2009 <br /> <br />MEETING CALLED TO ORDER at 7:07 p.m. <br />by Barbara Santoro, President. <br /> <br />Those present as follows: <br />Commissioners present: <br />Barbara Santoro Excused Absent: <br />Adelia Parker-Castro Calla Smorodin <br />Julie Bianchi Claire Hyman <br />Jennifer Stokes Shirley LeFlore <br />Dan Martin <br />Lisa Greening <br />Regina Raineri <br />Diane Davenport Absent: <br />Marilyn Cathcart Daniel Talonn <br /> Kim Chilton <br />Others present: <br />Tom McCarthy, Liaison, City <br />Terry Crow, Liaison, City Council <br /> <br />December ’08 Meeting Minutes <br />Minutes were approved per revisions. <br />Motion to approve by Diane <br />seconded by Lisa <br /> <br />Treasurers Report – Lisa Greening <br />Lisa Greening discussed and the distributed financial statement for the previous month. <br />Lisa voided three $50 checks (#1134, 1142 & 1145) that were issued to Wash U students <br />from Sculpture series, but never deposited. A check for $100 to the Youth winner of the <br />PS also has not been deposited. Commerce Bank Foundation donated $250 to the <br />Commission. Regina will send a Thank You note to Commerce Bank on behalf of the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Councilmember’s Report <br /> <br /> <br />Terry informed the Commission on the great impression we made on the City <br />Council at their meeting on Jan. 5. Lisa spoke to the Council members on behalf <br />of the Commission and handed out (self) prepared brochures of our benefit to the <br />City. <br /> <br /> <br />The Loop District is currently finalizing the curfew for unaccompanied minors <br />out past 10 pm, 7 days / week. This is a U City wide curfew. <br /> <br /> <br />The Lions project with the Historical Society has three commitments for the <br />purchase of lions for the 100 year celebration. <br />th <br /> <br /> <br />The Ice Carnival is this Saturday, January 17. <br /> <br /> <br />Terry will appoint Adelia and Barbara to an additional term. <br /> <br />Staff Liaison’s Report <br /> <br />
