Hill, Zoning Administrator <br />CONTINUATION OF CASE #2330 - FRONT AND REAR YARD VARIANCES TO PERMIT <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BUILDING ADDITION AT 725 SWARTHMORE, DENNIS <br />TACCHI REPRESENTING SIDNEY AND KATHY MACHEFSKY <br />This case was continued from the May 20, 1992 meeting. Mr. Tacchi requested a variance of §§ 34- <br />30.3(b) and (d) to permit the construction of a building addition that will encroach into both the <br />required front yard and rear yard at 725 Swarthmore. The variance was granted by a vote of 5 - 0, <br />with the condition that suitable landscaping, as shown in the site plan submitted with application <br />2330, be installed and maintained to adequately screen the improvement from the right-of-way. <br />CASE #2337 - SIDE YARD VARIANCE FOR ABOVE-GROUND POOL AT 1529 N. <br />HANLEY, NENA MAXWELL <br />Ms. Maxwell requested a variance of § 34-30.3(b) to permit construction of an above-ground pool <br />that will encroach 12' into the required 15' side yard at 1529 N. Hanley. The variance was granted <br />by a vote of 5 - 0, with the following conditions: 1) the deck shall be relocated to the western portion <br />of the pool (toward the rear yard); 2) the deck railing must not extend above the height of the privacy <br />fence and 3) the privacy fence (no gaps between boards) must be fully enclosed, 6' high on all sides, <br />gates must be self-closing with self-latching latches placed at least 48 inches above the ground and <br />all the fence's posts, rails, framing and other exposed structural members must face the interior of <br />the property. <br />
