<br />February 10, 2010 Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board Meeting <br />Minutes <br />In attendance were Board members Ellen Bern, Gordon Meyers, Tim Tucker, <br />Janet Wilson and Rosalind Williams. Also in attendance were Bill Hughes and <br />John Temporiti from Hughes Co., City staff Andrea Riganti , Mayor Joe Adams, <br />Councilwoman Lynn Ricci, Joe Edwards, Eric Klein, Jonathan Stern and Shelley <br />Welsch. <br />Rosalind Williams opened the meeting at 4 pm. Ellen motioned approval of the <br />December, 2009 minutes and Janet seconded. The motion carried. <br />Huges Co. shared several ideas for a revised Olive Link logo. The Board <br />preferred the second option with the bolder lines in Olive. There will be further <br />discussion of colors. Plans to hold outreach meetings in all four sectors to <br />discuss the logo and overall plan were discussed. Hughes will revise the design <br />for Board review at the next meeting.Sector meeting dates will be set in March <br />and April. <br />The possibility of a site visit on Olive to view areas where the upcoming sidewalk <br />improvements was discussed. The City Manager will not be using the additional <br />$100,000 that had previously been allocated for administration. The Board can <br />reallocate these funds. <br />Joe Edwards asked the Board to approve $35,000 in signage for a tourist <br />program being coordinated by the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Bureau. <br />The intent is to direct tourists throughout the St. Louis area to more easily find <br />our local attractions, including the Loop. <br />Ellen motioned that the $100,000 from administration in the current budget be <br />reallocated with $35,000 going for the proposed Loop signage program, and <br />$65,000 going into the land acquisition account. Janet seconded and the motion <br />carried. <br />Ideas for next year’s budget were discussed including land acquisition, hiring <br />staff for economic development on Olive, and a façade improvement program. <br />At the next meeting the Board will work on a proposal for the next fiscal year and <br />review the comprehensive economic advisory development plan. <br />The meeting adjourned at 6 pm. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Ellen Bern, Secretary <br />
