HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MINUTES <br /> <br />March 18, 2003 <br /> <br />Present <br />Susan Bowser <br />Ron Heise <br />Larry Lieberman, Council Liaison <br />Frank Hill, Zoning Administrator - acting Staff Liaison <br /> <br />1. Meeting commenced at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Ron Heise served as interim Chairman for tonight's meeting only. Election of a Chair and <br />Vice-chair will occur at another meeting. <br /> <br />3. Minutes of previous meeting February 18, 2003 were approved. <br /> <br />Agenda Item - 6331 Waterman - Construction of Two-Car Garage <br />Applicant, Donald Kuhl gave an overview of the proposed construction of a two-car garage, <br />mentioning that the garage will also go before the Board of Adjustment for a variance to <br />reduce the rear setback from 5 feet to 3 feet. It was decided by the Commission that the <br />proposed variance had no historic significance. A letter from Commission Member, Peter <br />Steuterman was submitted and reviewed by those present. It was decided by the <br />Commission that the garage should be recommended for approval, as submitted, with <br />the addition of a sash up and down style window (as compared to a sliding side by side <br />window). <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Councilman Lieberman updated the Commission on City Council activities including that there <br />is an existing document somewhere concerning the protocol of reviewing historic applications, <br />that the City Manager wants to have the meeting minutes posted on the website, that the <br />former Smith Hardware building site has a new plan approved by Council, that at City Hall on <br />April 6th the sculpture series will present the proposals for display, and that the <br />Metrolink expansion will close Forest Park Parkway between Big Bend and Central on <br />April 14th and between Skinker and Big Bend on June 2nd. <br /> <br />6.
