Minutes <br />A motion was made to approve the minutes from the meetings in June and August. The motion <br />was seconded and approved. <br />2. Correspondence <br />None. <br />3. Friends' report <br />The first program is on October 15 and is Lawrence Coben the author of Anna's Shtetl. The <br />Friends are having a picnic on September 23 in Heman park and board members and library staff <br />are invited. <br />4. Council liaison <br />Absent. <br />5. Librarian's report <br />a. Linda will be meeting in the coming week with AGR, the contractor responsible for <br />replacing the north and south entrance brick walkways with concrete.. <br />b. The Telecirc automatic telephone system for letting patrons know of books being held is <br />installed and should start being used in October. <br />c. UCity Library will be in a booth with other consortium libraries at the Big Read event in <br />Claton on October 6. <br />d. There was discussion about providing secure bicycle storage for library employee's who <br />ride bikes to work as there is limited space inside for the bicycles. The lockers reviewed <br />were expensive and more discussion and investigation into a sponsor will be needed <br />before considering purchase. <br />6. Actions Requested <br />a. After discussion, there was a motion to adopt the UCity alternative modes of <br />transportation policy incentive program as specified in the city plan for the next three <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
