Minutes <br />A motion was made to approve the minutes from the meeting of Dec. 12, 2007. The motion was <br />seconded and approved. <br />2. Correspondence <br />No correspondence. <br />3. Friends' report <br />The Friends are holding a children's program in the Youth area on January 27; a combination new <br />member event and activities. <br />Novelist Eileen Dreyer will be the program speaker on February 4. <br />4. Council liaison <br />Michael updated the board on the impact of traffic from the I64 work and the fact that WU is not <br />planning to expand property ownership further along Pershing Ave. <br />5. Librarian's report <br />a. The front walk replacement is now complete. <br />b. Linda provided historical data on capital expenditures and life span data for major capital <br />items for use during the annual budget preparations and review by the building and <br />grounds committee. <br />c. Tim Black was named the Employee of the Year for the Library. Tim provided <br />outstanding service during the year, keeping things running smoothly. <br />d. Jennifer Parsons, a practicum student, will began work at the library in January. <br />e. The following patrons have made generous contributions recently: Ruth, William <br />Boothby; Steve, Sandra Marsh; Judith, Ernest Stix; Jessica, Michael Friedlander - in <br />memory of Edit Silver; Alan, Laurie, Aliza Dien Jaillen - in memory of Anna Dien; Jane <br />Miller - in memory of Ann Quill Niederlander and her son Jimmy Miller; Rochelle <br />Harris - in memory of her husband Les. A prior gift of stock from Michael, Caryn St. <br />Clair was sold and the funds received by the library. We are very thankful for these <br />donations. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
