<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />February 28, 2006 <br />Centennial Commons <br /> <br />President James Sutton called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Jerry Fitch Nancy MacCartney, Director <br />James Sutton Tracy Collins, Administrative Secretary <br />Charles Mosley Francine Brungardt, Council Liaison <br /> <br />Doyle Mitchell <br />Livingstone Sykes <br />Mary Hart <br />Carl Seltzer <br />Evelyn Irving <br />Ted Smorodin <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from January 24, 2006 <br />Mr. Sykes motioned to accept the minutes with the correction of typographical errors. <br />Ms. Irving seconded the motion. Motion passed <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />Elsie Glickert of 6712 Etzel – Re-instate the ½ (half) price swim pass benefit for University <br />City Board of Education. <br />Mike Miller of 1331 Purdue – Lack of picnic tables in various parks; Lack of activities for 6- <br />15 yr olds, other than basketball at Centennial Commons. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Council passed the infill review board ordinance; Council will be meeting with the three <br />finalists for the City Manager position this week. <br /> <br />Heman Pool Non Resident Access <br />Mary Ann Zaggy want to reiterate her stance on not allowing non-resident to purchase <br />daily pool passes. Ms. Erving is concerned about liability at the pool. Mr. Seltzer asked if <br />there would be an impact on revenue; if discussion with library personnel about the <br />changes they had to make with children visitors; he asked if the pool would become a <br />babysitter. Mr. Fitch motion that non-residents must be accompanied by a resident or <br />have a Centennial Commons membership in order to utilize the pool. Ms. Erving <br />seconded. Ms. MacCartney asked for clarification; she also asked about non resident <br />lap swimmers (swim team), should it be a separate issue. Mr. Sykes stated, he thought <br />we should take this time to study the impact the Centennial Commons would have on <br />the pool. Mr. Smorodin asked if there was a difference in liability between resident and <br />non resident. Ms. MacCartney stated that there was none. Mr. Mitchell asked about <br />the capacity and the clean up from last season; if non resident were allowed would the <br />city would prepared. Mr. Mosley stated the resident are against allowing non resident <br />use of the pool and he is incline to side with them. Vote 6 to 1 and 1 opstention. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br /> <br />
