<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />June 26, 2007 <br />Centennial Commons <br /> <br />Vice President Mary Hart called the meeting to order at 7:46 p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Caryn St Clair Arthur Sharpe Jr., Council Liaison <br />Karen Dille Nancy E MacCartney, Director of Parks <br />Livingstone Sykes Tracy Collins, Department Liaison <br />Linda Peoples Lynda Euell-Taylor, Recreation Superintendent <br />John Sterbenz Tom McCarthy, Assistant Recreation Superintendent <br /> <br />Excused; Jerry Fitch, Karen Palmer and James Sutton <br /> <br />Park Commission member were taken on a tour of the Southwest park areas. Mr. <br />Ewald, Park Maintenance Superintendent, gave a brief description of each park in the <br />areas. <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from March 27, 2007 <br />Ms. St Clair motioned to accept minutes with corrections; Mr. Sterbenz second, motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />None <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Mr. Sharpe reported: Ribbon cutting for the new Condo site on McKnight; CDBG <br />monies; Golf Teaching Center; Budget Approved <br /> <br />Membership Cancellation Policy <br />Ms. McCartney gave a brief synopsis on why the policy is needed. Ms St Clair motion to <br />accept the policy, Mr. Sterbenz seconded, after a vote of unanimous, motion passed. <br /> <br />Golf Teaching Center <br />Citizen Comments: <br />Stanford Carp of 911 Barnard College Lane, is in support of the teaching center/driving <br />range. Reasons: scholarships, beautiful landscaping, part-time jobs <br /> <br />William Field of 7152 Kingsbury, is opposed to the teaching center/driving range. <br />Reasons: not good for the City or Ruth Park <br /> <br />Larry Mass of 8131 Balson, is in support of the teaching center/driving range. Reasons: <br />attraction, control revenue, landscaping and harvest younger trees and plants <br /> <br />Jeff Dee of 927 Golf Course Dr, is in support of the teaching center/driving range. <br /> <br />Ethan Schuman of 8258 Groby Rd is opposed to the teaching center/driving range <br /> <br /> <br />
