<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />March 27, 2007 <br />Centennial Commons <br /> <br />President James Sutton called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Caryn St Clair Arthur Sharpe Jr., Council Liaison <br />Jerry Fitch Lynda Euell-Taylor, Recreation Superintendent <br />Livingstone Sykes Tracy Collins, Department Liaison <br />Charles Mosley <br />John Sternbenz <br />Linda Peoples <br />Mary Hart <br /> <br />Excused: Karen Palmer <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from February 27, 2007 <br />Mr. Fitch motioned to accept the minutes as written; Ms. St Clair second, motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />Mr. Acme Price of 82336 Balson: Mr. Price asked the Commission to not be in favor of <br />the golf plan, reason being it’s not financially viable for the City. He also wanted the <br />Commission to reconsider the Golf Pro contract. <br /> <br />Ms. Elsie Glickert of 6712 Etzel: Ms. Glickert asked the Commission to endorse half of the <br />cost for the handicap ladder at the Natatorium; she also wanted to discuss the swim <br />hours at the Natatorium <br /> <br />Mr. Worth Hayes of 1541 82 Blvd: Mr. Hayes wanted to discuss the Natatorium hours of <br />nd <br />operation; current hours leave limited swim time. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Mr. Sharpe reported: Budget meetings are scheduled; Historical Society; Union vote; <br />Building codes; Arts & Letters Returning artist series; Loop business – restaurant chains <br /> <br />North East Area Parks and Open Space <br />Mart Hart gave brief overview of the plan. After a brief discussion, Mr. Fitch motioned to <br />recommend plan to the Planning Commission; Mr. Sykes second, after a discussion on <br />cost to the City, Commission voted 5 (yes) and 1 (abstain), motion passed <br />Department Report <br />Reminded Park Commission of the park tours scheduled for April and May. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br />Ms. Palmer emailed Ms. Collins her park report for Mooney Park; railroad ties keep <br />deteriorating; rusty spikes sticking out in sections; one of the iron fence <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
