<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />PARK TOUR- PART 2 <br />June 22, 2010 <br />Centennial Commons, 7210 Olive Blvd. <br /> <br />President Livingston Sykes called the meeting to Order at 630 pm. Other members present were: <br /> <br />John Sweeney Nancy MacCartney, Director, Parks, Recreation, Forestry <br />Karen Palmer Rivian Robinson, Administrative Secretary <br />Caryn St. Clair <br />William Field <br />Linda Peoples <br />Karen Dille <br />Jerry Fitch <br />Lynn Ricci <br />Excused Absences: Gwendolyn Gaines-Beckwith <br /> <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from May 25, 2010 <br />Minutes reviewed. Mr. Field would like his motion from April meeting included in minutes. His motion <br />was to recommend to council that free passes (Mayor Courtesy) not be continued. The motion was not <br />seconded and so died on the floor. Ms. Palmer made motion to approve minutes with this addition, Ms. <br />Peoples seconds, vote taken, all in favor. <br /> <br />Citizen’s comments on items not on Agenda <br />Linda Fried-7623 Stanford-Ms. Fried expressed concerns regarding the Ruth Park Trail and the negative <br />effects it may have on the downstream flood plain. She would like to have an open discussion in the <br />future. She presented a letter written by Kay Drey addressing her concerns with the trail. <br />Mr. Irvin Logan-1336 Waldron- Mr. Logan expressed concerns regarding the Ruth Park Trail also. His <br />concern is the impact it would possibly have on the flood plain and the negative impact it could have on <br />the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Ms. Ricci announced as new liaison for Park Commission. This was excluded from the agenda in error. <br />This is her first meeting so there is no report available at this time. <br /> <br />Department Report <br />Ms. MacCartney informs commission members that $375,000.00 in funding from Great Rivers Greenway <br />for the Ruth Park Trail has been pulled earlier today. Reports that project is cancelled at this point, until <br /> <br /> <br />
