SESSION 1738 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />DECEMBER 14, 1998 <br /> <br />A special meetin!] of the City Council of University City was held at the board room of <br />the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council located at #10 Stadium Plaza in St. Louis <br />on Monday, December 14, 1998, at 3:30 p.m. The following members of the Council <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mayor Joseph L. Adams <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff, Assistant City Manager Gregory <br />Rose, Public Works Director Evelyn Shields, Planning Director Lehman Walker and City <br />Engineer Tim Moffitt. <br /> <br />The only subject ¢:iscussed was the design plans of MetroLink as provided by the <br />Parsons Group. <br /> <br />Representatives from the Parsons Group, the engineers contracted by East West <br />Gateway to desigr~ the MetroLink route extension, briefed Council on the proposed at <br />grade alternative. Council was advised that although three alternatives exist, only the <br />at grade alternativ,,.~ has currently been designed. Further, that when the other two <br />designs are complete they would be provided to the City for public review. Several <br />questions were as~,(ed by members of Council relating to safety concerns for the <br />vehicular traffic and noise pollution. The engineers from Parsons advised Council that <br />they were continui~lg to study these issues. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 4:42 p.m. <br /> <br />Gr0gory Ro-~, Assist'ant City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />
