<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />April 24, 1985 <br /> <br />The Plan Commission of University City held its regular meeting in the <br />EOC Room of the City Hall on Wednesday, April 24, 1985, convening at <br />7:36 p.m. with Chairman Esley Hamilton presiding. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />Votin~ Members Present: <br /> <br />Votin~ Members Absent: <br /> <br />Esley Hamilton <br />David Douglass <br />Booker T. Rice, Jr. (excused) <br /> <br />Council Liaison Present: <br /> <br />Paul Schoomer <br /> <br />Staff Present: Keona McMurry, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Douglass made a motion that the minutes of the meeting of February <br />27, 1985 be corrected. Mr. Washington seconded the motion which passed <br />by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Michael Kennedy arrived at 7:46 p.m. <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL USE APPLICATION: 8020 A OLIVE. SHOP 'N SAVE <br /> <br />Thomas J. Maloney of Levy Sign Company, representing Shop 'n Save <br />stated that they were requesting an amendment to the Conditional Use <br />Permit in order to replace the present sign with a new sign which has a <br />total gross sign area of 64 square feet (96 square feet open-letter) to <br />be installed on the building. He stated that the present sign is not <br />as visible from Olive as the new one will be. The new sign will be lit <br />from the interior with neon tubing. <br /> <br />Since there were no questions or comments Mr. Hamilton stated he would <br />entertain a motion. Mr. Douglas made a motion to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the application to amend the Conditional Use <br />Permit as submitted. Mr. Washington seconded the motion which passed <br />by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />After voting to amend the permit, Mr. Hamilton led a discussion <br />regarding Mr. Goldman's recommendation that the Conditional Use Permit <br />
