<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />March 26, 1986 <br /> <br />The Plan Commission of the City of University City held its regular meeting in <br />the E.O.C. Basement Meeting Room of City Hall on Wednesday, March 26, 1986, <br />convening at 7:38 p.m. with Chairman Esley Hamilton presiding. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />Voting Members Present: Voting Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mary Cook Michael Kennedy (excused) <br />Esley Hamilton <br />Matthew P. McCauley <br />Canice T. Rice, Jr. <br />Mary Schuman <br />Booker T. Washington <br /> <br />Council Liaison Present: Paul Schoomer <br /> <br />Staff Present: Sarah Elwood, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The following corrections were made to the minutes of February 26, 1986: <br /> <br />The fifth line of the last paragraph on page 2 was changed to read: "Mr. <br />McCauley asked what the Midland Group would do if Kroger ever closed their <br />operation at this location." On page 6, a new paragraph was inserted after the <br />first paragraph concerning the Commission's discussion with Historic Preservation <br />Commission members: "Chairman Hamilton asked Historic Preservation Commission <br />members why the Hanley Junior High School had not been designated a local <br />historic district. Ms. Little responded that when the property went on the <br />market in the spring of 1983, the Historic Preservation Commission looked into <br />various ways to protect the structure when the property was sold. Ms. Little <br />continued by saying that since the Office of Historic Sites and Preservation of <br />St. Louis County filed the application for nomination to the National Register of <br />Historic Places, the Historic Preservation Commission felt that there was no real <br />need for local designation. Plan Commission members strongly suggested local <br />designation for the school." <br /> <br />There being no further corrections, Ms. Schuman moved that the minutes of the <br />February 26, 1986 meeting be approved as corrected. Mr. Washington seconded the <br />motion which passed by a vote of 6-0. <br /> <br />REQUEST TO SUBDIVIDE THE PROPERTY AT 7801 LAFON PLACE <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Ellerman of E. W. Ellerman, Incorporated and Mr. William Blozan presented <br />their request to subdivide the property at 7801 Lafon Place. This request was <br />made for the purpose of eventually building a single--family home on the proposed <br />lot to the west of 7801 Lafon. Chairman Hamilton asked if the E. W. Ellerman <br />Company had presented a similar subdivision request at the last meeting of the <br />
