e

e

e

Minutes - Plan Commission
Page 4
March 26, 1986

proposed project at 951 Hanley Road, would be leasing the retail space and that
that it was not as beneficial a situation as having an owner/occupier on site.
Mr. McCauley noted that the Midland Group already owned a large vacant tract of
land on Olive suitable for some type of large-scale development.

Councilmember Schoomer noted to Plan Commission members that City Council had
accepted the Historic Preservation Commission Civic Plaza Plan. He also noted
that the City Council was awaiting Mr. Paul Londe's revised site plan for the
property at 500 North and South Road which was pending a rezoning to "PD"-Planned
Development District. Councilmember Schoomer noted that the City Council would
be preparing and potentially enacting a resolution for the purpose of encouraging
minority contractors to bid on new developments within the city. He stated that
the City Manager and City Attorney were presently preparing the resolution and
once it was enacted by Council, would be forwarded to the Human Relations
Commission.

Mr. McCauley noted that the Commission members would appreciate a report at the
next meeting on the parking requirements for Mr. Bill Obrock's project at
6900 Delmar Boulevard.

Mr. McCauley asked about the progress of the McKnight Village project at Delmar
Boulevard and the Innerbelt. He remembered the concern over access to the
property. Councilmember Schoomer noted that the State Highway Department was
anxious to have the developer attain access from Delmar Boulevar and he felt that
the issue would be resolved soon.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
