After members suggested a few corrections to <br />the sections they had recently received, Mr. Rice expressed his and other <br />member's gratitude to Mr. Goldman and Ms. Schuman for their hard work on <br />production and edition of the document. <br /> <br />Ms. Schuman moved that the Plan Commission adopt the following resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Adopting the 1986 Comprehensive Plan <br />for the <br />City of University City, Missouri <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 62 of the University City Charter, <br />the City Plan Commission has the responsibility and authority to prepare and <br />submit to the City Council for its approval a master plan for the physical <br />development of the city and such modifications of said plan, from time to time, <br />as the Commission deems in the City's interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission and city planning staff have made careful and <br />comprehensive surveys and studies of the existing conditions and probable future <br />growth of the municipality; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission published notice of a Public Hearing to be held on <br />October 29, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center of City Hall, <br />6801 Delmar Boulevard, regarding the proposed Comprehensive Plan in full <br />accordance with the requirements of Section 89.360 of the Missouri Revised <br />Statutes (Affidavits attest proper publication on October 14, 1986, in both the <br />St. Louis Countian and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was duly held on October 29, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in <br />the Emergency Operations Center of City Hall, 6801 Delmar Boulevard, where the <br />Commission received the comments and suggestions of those present (Minutes of the <br />Public Hearing approved by the Commission on November 12, 1986); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission believes that the proposed 1986 Comprehensive Plan <br />for the City of University City, Missouri, fulfills the general purpose of <br />guiding and accomplishing a coordinated development of the municipality which <br />will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote the general <br />welfare as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the 1986 Comprehensive Plan for the City of University <br />City, Missouri, is hereby adopted by the City Plan Commission to serve as a guide <br />for public and private actions involving the future growth and development of the <br />City. <br /> <br />Ms. Cook seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 6-0. <br />
