After members suggested a few corrections to the sections they had recently received, Mr. Rice expressed his and other member's gratitude to Mr. Goldman and Ms. Schuman for their hard work on production and edition of the document. Ms. Schuman moved that the Plan Commission adopt the following resolution: RESOLUTION Adopting the 1986 Comprehensive Plan for the City of University City, Missouri WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 62 of the University City Charter, the City Plan Commission has the responsibility and authority to prepare and submit to the City Council for its approval a master plan for the physical development of the city and such modifications of said plan, from time to time, as the Commission deems in the City's interest; and WHEREAS, the Commission and city planning staff have made careful and comprehensive surveys and studies of the existing conditions and probable future growth of the municipality; and WHEREAS, the Commission published notice of a Public Hearing to be held on October 29, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center of City Hall, 6801 Delmar Boulevard, regarding the proposed Comprehensive Plan in full accordance with the requirements of Section 89.360 of the Missouri Revised Statutes (Affidavits attest proper publication on October 14, 1986, in both the St. Louis Countian and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch); and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was duly held on October 29, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center of City Hall, 6801 Delmar Boulevard, where the Commission received the comments and suggestions of those present (Minutes of the Public Hearing approved by the Commission on November 12, 1986); and WHEREAS, the Commission believes that the proposed 1986 Comprehensive Plan for the City of University City, Missouri, fulfills the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated development of the municipality which will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote the general welfare as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the 1986 Comprehensive Plan for the City of University City, Missouri, is hereby adopted by the City Plan Commission to serve as a guide for public and private actions involving the future growth and development of the City. Ms. Cook seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 6-0.
