<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />June 22, 1988 <br /> <br />The City Plan Commission held its regular meeting in the Emergency <br />Operations Center of City Hall on Wednesday, June 22, 1988, convening at <br />7:35 p.m. with Chairman Matthew P. Adams, Jr. <br /> <br />Staff present: Sarah Elwood, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Safe moved that the minutes of the May 25, 1988, meeting be approved as <br />corrected. Mr. Kendall seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 6-0 <br />with one abstention. <br /> <br />APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT #267 - POLK & VOUGA. INC. FOR AMOCO <br />OIL COMPANY. 7360 FORSYTH BOULEVARD <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley informed those present that the Plan Commission had <br />scheduled a public hearing on an application for a Conditional Use Permit by <br />Polk & Vouga, Inc. on behalf of the Amoco Oil Company in order to allow the <br />premises at 7360 Forsyth Boulevard to be used as an expanded automobile <br />filling station facility. Chairman McCauley reviewed the criteria dictated <br />by the Zoning Code which must be satisfied in order for the Plan Commission <br />to recommend approval of the application. He explained that the Plan <br />Commission findings and recommendation on the application would be forwarded <br />to the City Council for their review. <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley called on the applicant to present information on the <br />application. Mr. Bob Polk, a principal of Polk & Vouga, Inc., distributed <br />to Commission members a revised set of drawings showing signage which, he <br />believed, complied with current University City Sign Code regulations. He <br />introduced Mr. Steve Smith, a representative of the Amoco Oil Company, who <br />explained that the purpose of the Conditional Use Permit application was to <br />obtain permission to remodel the station at 7360 Forsyth Boulevard, <br />including the sales room area, and add a new canopy which would shelter new <br />self-serve and full-serve gasoline pumps. He explained that the new sales <br />room area would provide sale of some convenience items such as soda, candy <br />and cigarettes, but would not be a full-scale convenience store selling <br />milk, sandwiches or other typical grocery items.
