<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes - Plan Commission <br />Page 7 <br />January 25, 1989 <br /> <br />of the need for the study and the extent to which the study should be undertaken in <br />the near future, Mr. Rice withdrew his original motion and moved that the Plan <br />Commission adopt the following resolution: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission has, from time to time, received varied <br />development proposals for portions of the area bounded by Hanley Road, North and <br />South Road, Delmar Boulevard and the south City Limits; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission wishes to resolve the demonstrated conflict <br />between the area's redevelopment versus neighborhood preservation and to define, <br />through sound planning strategy, the potential for economic redevelopment in this <br />area. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City Plan Commission request of the University City Industrial <br />Development Authority funding to conduct a study of the area bounded by Hanley Road, <br />North and South Road, Delmar Boulevard and the south City limits in order to <br />determine its redevelopment potential. <br /> <br />Mr. Marsh seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 6-0. <br /> <br />ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley stated that according to the Plan Commission Bylaws, election of <br />officers should take place during the regular January meeting of the Commission. He <br />opened nominations for the office of Chairman of the City Plan Commission. Mr. Rice <br />nominated Mr. McCauley to continue as the Commission's Chairman for the next year. <br />Mr. Marsh seconded the motion and Matthew P. McCauley was elected Chairman by <br />acclamation. <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley then opened nominations for the office of Vice Chairman of the City <br />Plan Commission. Mr. Kendall nominated Mr. Rice as Vice Chairman of the City Plan <br />Commission. Mr. Marsh seconded the motion and Canice T. Rice, Jr. was elected Vice <br />Chairman by acclamation. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner, Council Liaison, informed the Commission that the Council, at its <br />December meeting, approved the Conditional Use Permit for the Dubbles Drive-In <br />Restaurant at 7290 Olive Boulevard and denied a Conditional Use Permit for used car <br />sales at 7711 Olive Boulevard. The Council had also extended two Use Permits granted <br />earlier in the year so that the applicants could have the necessary time to arrange <br />financing. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:40 p.m. <br />
