Minutes - Plan Co~ssion
Page 5
April 25, 1990

.

Such bars installed before the effective date
of this subsection (insert date) may remain
subject to the provisions of Section 34-81
until such time as there is a change in
ownership of the property after said date.

The motion was seconded by Mr. Marsh and passed by a vote of 6-0.

OTHER BUSINESS

Mr. Goldman related the City Manager's concern regarding the
recently adopted Zoning Code Section relating to construction of
fences. Plan Commission members recalled the ordinance which
requires the structural members of a fence to face the interior
of the property on which the fence is constructed. The City
Manager has received several calls in opposition to this
ordinance and suggests that those aggrieved either apply for a
variance of this section of the Zoning Code or support repeal of
the regulation. Commission members again heard several of the
practical problems in complying with this ordinance. Mr. Wagner
indicated that the City Council passed this ordinance because
many citizens had expressed specific support for this ordinance.
No action was taken by the Commission on this issue.

Mr. Wagner related to the Commission that the City Council had,
at its last meeting, approved a site plan for a retail copy
center at 6331 Delmar Boulevard.

Chairperson Kreishman indicated that she had received a memo from
the Park Commission expressing their concern regarding a lack of
notification of development proposals next to City Parks. The
Park Commission believes its members should have notice of such
development proposals at their earliest stages so that they could
comment on their impact on park uses. After some discussion, Ms.
Elwood agreed to contact the Director of the Parks Department and
see if notifying him in advance of the Plan Commission's agenda
would be sufficient notice for the Park Commission.

ADJOURNMENT

As there was no further business, Mr. Foxworth moved that the
meeting be adjourned. Mr. Kendall seconded the motion which was
passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

M-4-25.PLC
