<br />PLAN COMMISSION <br />Minutes <br />November 13, 1996 <br />The Plan Commission held its regular meeting in the Fourth Floor Meeting Room at City Hall, 6801 <br />Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri on November 13, 1996. The meeting commenced at <br />7:30 p.m. with Chairperson Solodar presiding. <br />Voting Members PresentVoting Members Absent <br />A. Walsh <br />Staff Present <br />: Al Goldman, Director of Planning; Frank Hill, Zoning Administrator <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Chairperson Solodar stated that the Commission would now consider approval of the minutes from <br />the October 23, 1996 meeting. Ms. Peniston moved for approval of the October 23, 1996 minutes. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Walsh and passed by a vote of 5 to 0 with all members voting "aye" <br />(Mr. Price was not present for this agenda item). <br />Proposed Historic Landmark and Text Amendment §34-128 "Purcell Avenue Sugarberry Tree <br />Historic Landmark," near the southeast corner of Bartmer and Purcell <br />Chairperson Solodar announced that a hearing was scheduled to hear an application from the Historic <br />Preservation Commission for historic landmark designation of the sugarberry tree located <br />approximately 60' south of the southeast corner of Bartmer and Purcell along the western edge of the <br />property addressed as 6850 Bartmer. He noted that this is a resubmission from the May 1996 <br />meeting where the Plan Commission asked the Historic Preservation Commission to address several <br />issues prior to their vote on the matter. <br />The Chairperson noted the Commission's procedures and criteria for reviewing historic landmark <br />designations. A representative from the Historic Preservation Commission did not attend the meeting <br />but Mr. Goldman stated he would answer any questions about the application. <br />Chairperson Solodar called on Planning Director Al Goldman to provide the staff report. There has <br />been a new site plan submitted and a separate public hearing was held where both of the adjoining <br />property owners had been notified. Mr. Goldman stated that having found the proposal not <br />inconsistent with the comprehensive plan, he recommends approval of the Historic designation. <br /> <br />
