For the purposes of this Title, in reference to the need <br />for a Forest Activity Permit, the terms "development" or "development projects" shall <br />include but not be limited to the construction of new single family dwellings or new two- <br />family dwellings and any other new construction that requires a special use permit such as <br />Site Plan Review, Conditional Use Permit or Planned Development. The terms <br />"development" or "development projects" shall specifically exclude additions to single <br />family dwellings or two-family dwellings and the addition of accessory structures (as <br />defined in Title 34 of the Zoning Code) including but not limited to decks, porches, sheds, <br />garages, fences and pools. <br /> <br />DBH: The diameter of a tree at breast height which shall be measured at 4 1Iz feet above <br />ground. <br /> <br />Forestry Activity Permit: Permit required to remove, prune or plant trees on public rights- <br />of-way. It is also required when trees are to be removed from private property as part of <br />certain development projects as set forth herein. <br /> <br />Maintain: To plant, mulch, fertilize, water, and/or prune as necessary, and remove if dead <br />or diseased. <br /> <br />Park Trees: See Trees below. <br /> <br />Public Community Forest: All City Trees as a total resource. <br /> <br />Private Community Forest: All trees within the City's boundaries that are not City Trees. <br /> <br />Private Tree: See Trees below. <br /> <br />Site: Same as Tract (see below). <br /> <br />Street Trees: See Trees below. <br /> <br />Tract: The total area of a parcel, site, lot, or ownership ofland upon which development <br />or land disturbance is proposed irrespective of the actual limits or size of the proposed <br />development or land disturbance activity. <br /> <br />Tree: A woody plant that grows mostly upright as a single stem (rarely multi-stem) that <br />may eventually attain a height of 15 feet or more. <br /> <br />City Tree: Street Tree, Park Tree or other tree on property owned by the City, on City <br />right-of-way, or to be planted on City property or City right-of-way and other trees owned <br />by the City. <br /> <br />Q:\ WPOFFICE\ WPDA TA \m-06-28-2006. pIc. final. wpd <br />
