Mr. Hales is requesting that the city install two stops signs at Barkley going East
and West bound along Amherst. The reason for this request is to slow traffic down because pedestrians walk on the street due to no sidewalks.
It is public works recommendation that stops signs should not be installed to slow traffic down. Public works has requested that Mr. Hales have residents along this section of Amherst
sign a petition in ment with this proposal. The police department will be notified to evaluate if speeding is a problem on this street.

2.Request along the 500 – 540 block of North and South to remove the “no

construction parking” signs along the west side of the street.

Please find the attached traffic request form submitted by Jacquelyn Lipsitz, resident at 520 North and South. Mrs. Lipsitz’s original request was to install no construction parking
signs along the east side of North and South to match the west side. The existing signs on the west part of the block were for temporary purposes only, so public works removed the signs
along the west side of the street and that satisfied Mrs. Lipsitz. This item is presented for the traffic commission’s information only, no action is necessary.

Page 1 - Agenda
April 11, 2007
3.Request to receive residential parking permits or change the status of these

parking spaces to reflect commercial parking as well as residential for three
parking spaces along the South side of Pershing Ave just west of Big Bend
Boulevard.

Please find the attached traffic request form submitted by Randy Berger on behalf of Williams Pharmacy.
