Please call
Sandy Weinberg at 505-8563, and advise her if you will not be attending the meeting.

We welcome new commissioner, Mr. Donnie Robinson, Sr. to the traffic commission.

AGENDA FOR THE MEETING

1.Request to prohibit parking on one side of Northmoor from Big Bend west to

city limits.

Please find the attached traffic request form submitted by Deputy Fire Chief Donald
Miner, with the University City Fire Department. Mr. Miner is requesting that the city
prohibit parking on one side of Northmoor from Big Bend west to city limits. The fire
department indicated that the street is too narrow to allow emergency vehicles proper
access to the homes when parking is allowed on both sides of the street. Public works
made a site visit with the Fire Department and took photos which are enclosed for your
viewing. These photos do indicate how hard it is for the fire trucks to pass. The
sanitation department has also mentioned that it is extremely difficult for the trash
trucks to navigate along Northmoor. Our street department stated that it is difficult for
snow plowing when cars are parked on both sides of the street.

I have received numerous emails and phone calls from residents regarding this issue. I
have spoken with no one from the subdivision that approves of a lane restriction. I
have enclosed the emails that I have received. I mailed notices to everyone in the
neighborhood and it has been an overwhelming vote of “no” to any proposed changes
to the current status, which allows parking on both sides of the street.

The public works department requests that the traffic commissioners research this
request from the fire department prior to the June 13, 2007 meeting.

Page 1 - Agenda
June 13, 2007
1
V:\WP51\Public Works- Traffic Commission\Traffic Commission\agenda\2007\Agenda 06-13-07.doc
