Please call 505-8572 to <br />confirm your attendance. <br /> <br />AGENDA FOR THE MEETING <br /> <br />1. Traffic Commission Recommendations to Council Procedures <br /> <br />Traffic Commissioners will consider changing their procedure to present bills to the City Council <br />prior to the approval of the Traffic Commission meeting minutes. Once the Traffic Commission <br />approves a traffic request, the information or bill will be presented to the City Council at the next <br />possible council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Request for a stop sign on Canton at Mendell <br /> <br />Please find attached a traffic request submitted by Rita Clemons, resident at 8012 Canton. She is <br />requesting that a stop sign be placed on Canton at Mendell to control speeders along Canton. <br /> <br />Currently, there are stop signs on Mendell at Canton for both north and southbound. Installation <br />of stop signs on Canton will make this a four-way stop intersection. <br /> <br />Stop signs should not be used to control speed. Speeding should be enforced by the Police <br />Department. Speed limit signs can be placed if needed. <br /> <br />The request to monitor speeds on Canton was submitted to the Police Department and the results <br />will be presented at the meeting. The Police Department will also have the number of accidents <br />at this intersection in the last three years. <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes ā€“ November 12, 2008 meeting. <br /> <br />4. Update ā€“ Restrict parking on one side of Northmoor Dr, from 7045 to 7117 and Asbury Ave <br />to the west city limit. <br /> <br />Public Works is preparing a cost estimate for replace existing curbs on Northmoor with ā€œsā€ curbs as <br />requested at the November 12, 2008 Traffic Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />Cc: Evelyn Shields-Benford, Director of Public Works <br /> Major Ernest Green, Police Department <br /> Arthur Sharpe, Jr., Council Liaison <br />
