<br /> <br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2002 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Susan Schafers called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br />Those present were: <br /> <br />Raymond Creer Lt. Roger Spearman, Police Department <br />Melcine Henderson Erin Shocklee <br />Susan Schafers Shelley Welsch, Council Liaison <br />Elizabeth Schiller Tim Moffitt, Public Works Department <br />Elizabeth Proost Mariela Tapia, Traffic Commission Secretary <br /> <br />1) Approval of the minutes from the June 12, 2002 meeting <br /> <br />The commission voted unanimously to approve the minutes. <br /> <br /> <br />2) Parking Prohibition on the south side of Spoon just west of Mc Knight <br /> <br />BACKGROUND INFORMATION: <br />? <br /> A Traffic Request Form stated that a “No Parking Here To Corner” sign <br />must be posted on south side of Spoon just west of McKnight. <br />? <br /> The Engineering Division agrees with the request to prohibit parking on <br />the south side of eastbound Spoon, according to the ordinance, from the <br />“Stop” sign to a point 30 feet west of the “Stop” sign. <br />? <br /> The City Manager stated that if the signs were posted according to the <br />ordinance there did not need to be a Traffic Commission vote, and the <br />signs could be posted on a 60-day trial period. <br />? <br /> The signs were posted on both sides of the street, 30 feet west of the <br />“Stop” sign on Spoon, on July 26, 2002. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />? <br /> There were no residents present to speak on this issue, so the <br />Commissioners talked with each other.
