Traffic Commission Minutes
September 11, 2002

?
The students from Washington University are parking in front of the above
addresses due to the present restriction to the east.
?
The resident was contacted and notified that a petition needed to be
provided to the Commission prior to the discussion of this issue. The
petition has four of the five residents’ signatures. This is 80% of the
affected residents.
?
Since there is already a restriction in place to the east of these residents
and the request is to move the same restriction to the west, it is the
recommendation of the Engineering Division to extend the restriction.
?
The issue of the time change would require a petition of all the residents
that are included in the present restriction. Therefore, it is the
recommendation of the Engineering Division not to change the time for the
restriction.

DISCUSSION:
?
The following residents, Chris Militello (7038), Donna Curran (7044),
Roberta La Barge(7047), explained the above situation.
?
Mr. Lachajczyk (7054) stated that the residents from 7047 through 7054
wanted to be included in the petition.

The Commission voted unanimously to provide residential parking permits from
7001 through 7054 Lindell Blvd. on both sides of the street from 10:00 a.m. to
2:00 p.m. except Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

6) Revisit the Sutter Avenue Closure to Truck Traffic Issue

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
?
The City Council was approached with the request to close Sutter Avenue
to heavy truck traffic.

?
Of the seventeen (17) businesses in the Cunningham Industrial Park, one
was returned undeliverable and eight (8) responded. From the eight
responses, only 4 seemed to be impacted by the possible closure of
Sutter Avenue.

?
For the four companies affected, three are on Bartmer Industrial Drive.
The fourth company, Tallman Company, is located on Maple Avenue, but
has the drive access to their shipping/receiving area on Sutter Avenue.
The trucks needing to access Bartmer Industrial Drive can access the
Industrial Park from Hays Avenue, or East Park Industrial Drive. The
Tallman Company recommended that Sutter Avenue be closed from
Bartmer Industrial Drive north, which allows them to send and receive
deliveries.
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2002\Minutes 09-11-02.doc
