The Commission voted to install signs displaying, “no parking from here to corner” at Intersection Raisher and Drexel Dr. 3. Restrict parking during business hours on Pershing from Big Bend to first driveway, south side. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? A Traffic Request Form was submitted by phone from Ms. Dilschneider to the City Manager on June 10, 2003. She is requesting to restrict parking during business hours on Pershing from Bid Bend to first Driveway on the south side. This is to improve the safety of ingress/egress from commercial area to/from Big Bend during Metro construction, until June 2005. DISCUSSION: ? Present were Phillip Berg, Benjamin Trujillo and Christine Thomas, representing the business located at the beginning of the 7000 block of Pershing Ave. ? They are opposing to the request for no parking ? The Commissioners explained that this is just for general information and the issue is going to be discussed on the Traffic Meeting on September 10, 2003. ? The business owners request information about record minutes, council votes, and rights for U City business owners. The information would be provided before the meeting on September 10, 2003. 4. Restrict parking on north side of 7200 block of Pershing (from Wellesley to 100 west of Rossi Ave. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? A Traffic Request Form was submitted by Larry Lieberman to the City Manager on June 10, 2003. He is requesting “No Parking” on the north side of 7200 block of Pershing (from Wellesley to 100 feet west of Rossi) . This would improve safety by creating 2 driving lanes, and also would more convenient for residents coming and going to Waterman, Kingsbury, Washington.
