MINUTES FOR MEETING ON JANUARY 12, 2005

The residents on Mapleview, Teasdale and Westview Drive do not have chronic
problems due to non-resident parking. The request is based on possible future
nd
problems due to the September 22 decision of the Clayton School District to
enlarge Gay Field (more lights, games at late hours, more seats, more traffic, more
dirt, more danger, parking problems, etc).

Lafon Place already has parking restricted. Changing the hours of the parking
restriction for Lafon (from 11:00 am to 7:00 p.m. to 12noon to 9p.m.) was
th
requested in the November 10, traffic commission meeting. The request was also
based on the possible problems that Gay Field enlargement could bring.

The commissioners decided to wait for the lights on Gay field to be installed. There
is no way to anticipate what harm will result without the lights being installed.

The commissioners voted unanimously to deny the request since they are
not well documented as described on Section 10.10.030 of the Municipal
Code.

3.Parking restriction for the 7200 block of Kingsbury

Maxine Goldstein represented the residents of the 7200 block of Kingsbury. They
are requesting that parking be restricted. There are just three homes in the dead
end; there is a chain. All of the residents agree to restrict the parking. Four years
ago, they had a problem with people blocking their driveway and parking in front of
the chain. The residents have called the Police but the Police can not give tickets
since there is no ordinance regarding parking in front of the chains. Residents are
also concerned that if there is an emergency they may be unable to get out of their
driveways. Most of the cars parked are from the school teachers and students from
the nearby School.

The commissioners voted unanimously to suggest parking restrictions
from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the 7200 block of
Kingsbury on both sides of the street. Also, they recommended hanging a
“no parking sign” on the existing chain at the end of the block.

4.Approval of the minutes from the December 8, 2004 meeting

The Traffic Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the minutes.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.

Minutes prepared by Mariela Tapia, Secretary-Traffic Commission. This meeting was tape
recorded.
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2005\Minutes 1-12-05.doc
