departments request but said making the street less safe on a daily basis does not
help the residents. Several residents stated that they do not have driveways and
parking on the street is the only option. The overall opinion of the residents was to
limit parking in the bottle neck areas to small cars only, by posting no suv or van
parking signs.

The traffic commissioners decided to table this discussion until next month, and
asked the fire department to do more research on the areas of Northmoor where
the fire trucks have the most problems passing and to come up with a new plan
that could help alleviate there current navigation problems.

2.Request for parking to be limited on one side of the street along Asbury from

Northmoor to city limits.

Mrs. Judy Sweeney (7164 Northmoor Dr.) submitted a request to limit parking along
one side of the road only from Asbury from Northmoor to city limits. Mrs. Sweeney
states that cars usually block her driveway and crosswalks on a daily basis.

Public Works suggests installing a sign at her driveway stating “no parking within 3 feet
of driveway” to help her situation. Cars blocking a crosswalk should be ticketed from
our police department. We are not in favor of limiting parking to only one side of the
street.

Mrs. Sweeney was present and stated that cars are parked along her driveway
section, making it difficult for her to get out of her driveway. She also stated that
cars are always parked to close to the intersection of Asbury and Northmoor.

The commissioners agreed to add no parking signs near her driveway to keep this
area open for Mrs. Sweeney to easily come and go from her residence.

3.Request for a stop sign at the intersection of Julian/Ferguson.

Alderman Byron Price asked Public Works to present a request on behalf of a resident
for stop signs to be installed at the intersection of Julian/Ferguson. There are currently
stop signs on Julian but none on the North and South bound lanes of Ferguson. The
police department will have an accident report for the commissioners to review the
night of the meeting. This item is for discussion.

The commissioners agreed to table this item to give the resident who presented
this request to Alderman Price a chance to come to the next meeting and speak
about his/her concerns.

4.Approval of Minutes for April, 2007 meeting

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p. m.
Minutes prepared by Eric Husman, Project Manager
V:\WP51\Public Works- Traffic Commission\Traffic Commission\minutes\2007\Minutes 6-13-07.doc
