Commissioner Bondareff made a motion to table the request until the Commission receives <br />additional input from the majority of the residents of the subdivision. Motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Paterson but was stalled with two ayes and two nays. <br /> <br />Commissioner Smith made a motion to install additional 25 mph speed limit signs in the subdivision <br />but it was not seconded. <br /> <br />This item was postponed until the subdivision representatives present to the Public Works <br />Department a petition with signatures, documenting that this request is the preference of the <br />majority of the residents in the subdivision. <br /> <br />2. Request to reserve two parking spaces for delivery only on Westgate Ave. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Hazelwood presented the request on behalf of Ranoush Restaurant located at 6501 <br />Delmar Blvd (north-west corner of Delmar Blvd and Westgate Ave). Mr. Hazelwood requested two <br />(2) parking spaces on the west side of Westgate Ave, for deliveries only. <br /> <br />Mrs. Gutierrez explained that the Public Works recommendation is to install “15 Minute Delivery <br />Zone” signs on the west side of Westgate Ave. starting at 62 feet north of the north curb line of <br />Delmar Blvd, for a distance of 40 feet northwardly. <br /> <br />Officer Shaun Margul stated that the parking spaces would not be exclusive for Ranoush <br />Restaurant but available for other businesses as well. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot made a motion to approve the installation of “15 Minute Delivery Zone” signs on the west <br />side of Westgate Ave. starting at 62 feet north of the north curb line of Delmar Blvd, for a distance <br />of 40 feet northwardly. The motion was seconded by Ms. Smith and unanimously approved. <br /> <br />3. Request to install a no parking sign on Kingsland Ave at the alley located between <br /> <br />Kingsbury Blvd and Washington Ave. <br /> <br />Mrs. Gutierrez explained the Public Works recommendation to approve the request to restrict <br />parking on the east side of Kingsland Ave for a distance of 25 feet north of the north curb of the <br />alley located between Kingsbury Blvd and Washington Ave. and install the proper signage. <br /> <br />Ms. Bondareff made a motion to approve Public Works recommendation seconded by Ms. Brot and <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />4. Approval of Minutes – September 9, 2009 and October 14, 2009 meetings. <br /> <br />The minutes of the September 9, 2009 and October 14, 2009 meetings were unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />5. FYI - Temporary Parking Restriction on Groby Road <br /> <br />On October 8, 2008, the University City Traffic Commission temporarily approved the establishment <br />of a parking restriction on the south side of Groby from Old Bonhomme Rd. to Tulane Avenue to <br />prohibit Ruth Park Golf Course patrons from parking in front of residents’ homes. The restriction <br />was to be evaluated for a 12-month trial period and a recommendation made to the City Council on <br />whether to make the restriction permanent or implement another approach. <br /> <br />Public Works surveyed the residents in the area.
