<br />Park Commission Minutes – 42611, pg. 2 <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Ms. Ricci reported the following: <br />Council continues with budget process. <br /> <br /> <br />Public meetings for the fiscal year 11-12 budget are being held (next meeting Monday, May 23 in <br /> <br /> <br />Council Chamber) <br />Festival U City – Memorial Day weekend <br /> <br /> <br />Senior Expo (this Thursday – April 28 at Centennial Commons) <br /> <br /> <br />Council is addressing issue with youth in the Loop <br /> <br /> <br />Summer Youth Employment Program <br /> <br /> <br />Proposed Fee Increases and Program Changes for Centennial Commons and Heman Park Swimming <br />Pool for Fiscal Year 11-12 <br />Ms. Dille moved to recommend the proposed fee increases as presented. Ms. St. Clair seconded. Vote taken: <br />all approved. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br /> <br />John Sweeney – Adams Park: looks good. Flynn Park – looks bad due to construction, likes Arts& Letters <br />sculpture installed there. Lewis Park: Arts & Letter sculpture installed there looks like a golf <br />green; inquired about “Fish on a Bike” sculpture. Mr. Winker indicated the sculpture was <br />damaged over the winter, but will be replaced when it’s repaired. <br /> <br />Linda Peoples – Fogerty Park: large branch was removed, looks fine. Greensfelder: just there. <br /> <br /> <br />Caryn St. Clair – Millar Park and Rabe Park: both still there and wet. Ruth Park Woods: raised question <br />regarding entrance, seems city vehicles upon entering are encroaching onto the walking <br />pathway. Mr. Winker indicated he will discuss with City Forester ideas on the best plantings <br />for this area. <br /> <br />William Field – Metcalfe and Ackert Parks: raised the question regarding all of the construction. Mr. Winker <br />indicated the construction is due to Great Rivers Greenway bike trail installation. Ruth Park <br />Golf Course – shaping up great, greens look very good; complimented Golf Maintenance <br />Superintendent, Don Humphrey. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
