<br />RES {)71()O~ <br /> <br />Resolution in Support of the Downtown Revitalization <br />Economic Assistance Missouri Application <br /> <br />WHEREAS, University City is committed to the preservation, maintenance and renewal <br />of all business districts and corridors within the city, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, University City has established the physical and economic redevelopment of <br />the Olive Boulevard commercial district as a high priority, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Missouri has created a new initiative, the Downtown <br />Revitalization Economic Assistance Missouri, for the purpose of assisting with the <br />revitalization of downtown areas, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, University City intends to make application to the Downtown Revitalization <br />Economic Assistance Missouri initiative to assist with the revitalization of Olive <br />Boulevard, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, communities selected for the Downtown Economic Assistance Missouri <br />initiative are those that demonstrate a financial commitment to sustain revitalization <br />efforts, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, University City has an August 8, 2006 municipal ballot measure to add 14 of <br />1 cent percent tax on retail sales for economic development opportunities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, let it be known that the City Council of University City, by this <br />Resolution, does support the submittal of an application to the Downtown Revitalization <br />Economic Assistance for Missouri program, and will commit a portion of the proceeds <br />from the retail sales tax, if approved, toward the redevelopment of the Olive Boulevard <br />commercial district. <br /> <br />Adopted this 10th day of July, 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />~;;k&~. <br /> <br />Jp1Ce Pu m <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />. f " <br />, , <br /> <br />;, u : <br />:: (: : <br /> <br />:. -,-- ..... <br />~... .../ .. <br />~...- '/,~,... <br /> <br />i ' I <br />'j ; ~ , ~ j \ \ <br />"':~-:.;' :..::'~: ~;:~ '" <br /> <br />" <br />I . .~ <br /> <br />" <br />" <br /> <br />," <br />
