Meeting Minutes of the Board of Trustees for The University City <br />Attendance <br />: Deborah Arbogast, William Baldwin, John Douglas, <br />Members Present <br /> Luise Hoffman, Joy Lieberman, Larry Nolan, David Stokes <br />: Susan Glassman (excused) <br />Members Absent <br />: Steve Kraft <br />City council liaison <br />: Patrick Wall - Director <br />Library staff <br /> _______________________________________________________________ <br />The meeting of the University City Public Library board was call <br />5/11/2011 by Joy Lieberman, Treasurer. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />The minutes from the meeting of March 9, 2011 were corrected- a <br />GlassmanÈs name in one of the actions taken at the meeting - and <br />Correspondence <br />State Senator Lamping sent congratulations on the library receiv <br />computer equipment. Operation Food Search sent the library its <br />collection of food from patrons, about a barrel a month recently <br /> FriendsÈ report <br /> The Friends made a $5000 gift to the library at their annual me <br /> Council liaison <br />Councilman Kraft told us that while the summer youth employment <br />with a modest scope, the library will benefit with two youths be <br />library this summer. <br />LibrarianÈs report (full report attached) <br />1.The library is getting new bids for the computers being sought a <br />recently. <br />2.Bell Electric is bidding on providing a wall-mount for the new p <br />auditorium. <br />3.The library is getting a bid for the alarm system from the compa <br />IT services as they also provide alarm services. <br />4.The second floor electric hand dryers cost an extra $389 to inst <br />providing the required power in the bathrooms. <br />5.The library has two new circulation and shelving employees: Merc <br />Krekeler. <br />6.The MLC board approved a 25% increase in expenditures for purcha <br />7.County Library system presented UCity library with a $6500 bill <br />UCity residents. David Stokes asked that Patrick request more i <br />County arrived at this figure. <br />8.The ILS taskforce continues to meet and consider open source sof <br />money on the library catalog software and have a wider collectio <br />residents for borrowing by having additional libraries using the <br />PresidentÈs report <br />David Stokes is ending his term as board president.
