<br /> <br />MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY HALL <br /> <br />6801 Delmar Blvd. <br />City of University City, Missouri 63130 <br />MAY 23, 2011 <br /> <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, <br />on Monday, May 23, 2011. Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In <br />addition to Mayor Welsch, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Stephen Kraft <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance was City Manager Lehman Walker <br /> <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Mr. Glickert asked that Bill 9112 be postponed until the next City Council meeting so <br />some members of Council could speak with the Police Chief. The motion was seconded <br />by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker asked to postpone Bill 9115 until June 13, 2011, Council meeting. Ms. Ricci <br />moved to postpone Bill 9115 until June 13, 2011 Council meeting and was seconded by <br />Mr. Sharpe. <br /> <br /> <br />Voice vote on accepting the agenda as amended carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked the Chair to convene a group of people to come up with some strategic <br />alternatives rather than just a bill as it relates to the Loop. He said with a wider range of <br />interests coming together, they could come up with a broader scope of solutions versus <br />this one solution in Bill 9112. Mayor Welsch said the City is working with Wash U, the <br />City of St. Louis and Metro asked Mr. Walker to add members of the community and <br />members of Council to the discussion to come up with a recommendation of how the <br />City might move forward to present to the Council. <br />Mr. Crow asked that this group of MetroLink, St. Louis City and Wash U and members <br />of surrounding neighborhoods that are more impacted by what happens in the Loop and <br />also some from the Loop Special Business District. <br /> <br />D. PROCLAMATIONS <br /> <br />E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1. <br />May 3, 2011, study session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe, <br />seconded by Mr. Glickert and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />May 3, 2011, minutes as amended from the Regular City Council Session were <br />moved for approval by Ms. Sharpe, and were seconded by Ms. Ricci.
