Session 1149, Minutes Page 14 <br />December 20, 1976 <br />do so, but he is strongly suggesting there will be a very substantial reaction. <br />Councilman Mooney said he is -Tilling to abide by the Mayor's suggestion, but <br />does think members of the Council should write individual letters. Councilman <br />Adams said he agrees there should be individual letters by those members of <br />the Council who cant to do it. <br />Councilman Weissenburger said he thinks when the Council hears from constituents <br />who are in objection to this principle, that they also be encouraged to write; <br />he expressed the opinion that it would be very effective if these people were <br />to start picketing. Councilman Glickert, however, felt this could only result <br />in additional publicity for those theatres. <br />Councilman Glickert said the Council had written to the U. City Cinema who <br />intend to have a policy of ):-rated movies, which does have a variance from the <br />other two theatres who just show them some of the time. She reiterated her <br />position that the Council ought to write a letter of concern, and she added <br />that she thinks it is within the prerogative of the Council to write this kind <br />of a letter, objecting to X-Fated movies and asking for responsible programming. <br />TRAn, +-IC - HISSIOPi COURT: <br />Councilman I-looney requested, that the Y1i.nutes reflect that he has received <br />letters from two constituents expressing appreciation for the barricade that <br />was placed on 14ission Court at Pershing, and the subsequent decrease in traffic. <br />ADJOUR17tW1T : <br />On motion of Councilman Riooney, seconded by Councilman Weissenburger and unani- <br />mously carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:27 P.n. <br />Jerome 14.
