Councilman Mooney said he is -Tilling to abide by the Mayor's suggestion, but does think members of the Council should write individual letters. Councilman Adams said he agrees there should be individual letters by those members of the Council who cant to do it. Councilman Weissenburger said he thinks when the Council hears from constituents who are in objection to this principle, that they also be encouraged to write; he expressed the opinion that it would be very effective if these people were to start picketing. Councilman Glickert, however, felt this could only result in additional publicity for those theatres. Councilman Glickert said the Council had written to the U. City Cinema who intend to have a policy of ):-rated movies, which does have a variance from the other two theatres who just show them some of the time. She reiterated her position that the Council ought to write a letter of concern, and she added that she thinks it is within the prerogative of the Council to write this kind of a letter, objecting to X-Fated movies and asking for responsible programming.
