<br />eit of <br />o Y Ot <br />Unlversl Y <br />City <br />. <br /> <br />R e:S 0'3 {Ij oS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of University City, City Council, is charged with the duty of <br />planning for the recreational needs of residents and visitors and how best to meet those <br />needs <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the parks and recreational needs of the community are essential public <br />needs,and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the proposed Centennial Greenway will have a positive impact on the <br />region as a whole but especially for University City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Greenway will be a catalyst for economic development, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Greenway will provide opportunities for physical fitness, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Greenway will link University City neighborhoods as well as link <br />University City with the neighboring communities, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the planned routes through University City offer both on-street and off- <br />street bicycling opportunities, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Centennial Greenway plan identifies several sections within University <br />City as priority sections. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of University City, City Council supports <br />the Centennial Greenway Plan and urges the Great Rivers Greenway District to adopt <br />the plan and implement the high priority projects. <br /> <br />Adopte<!o4 ~_ kit, 2005 <br /> <br />,~ I <br />C~t~~a~a~mm <br /> <br /> <br />,;\ ..tl'!.{ <br />".,1 .
