Staff stated that based on the information provided in the staff report, staff recommends approval
of the Final Plat.
The Chairperson called for a motion.
Question from the Plan Commission:
-May we deny the application due to a need for more information? This is due to concern
with existing residents and neighborhood character. More feedback is necessary.
Ms. Greening made a motion to postpone the hearing until the Plan Commission gets more
information.
The Chairperson stated the Plan Commission is concerned with the major changes to the
neighborhood. It is important that everyone in the neighborhood is aware of what is occurring
prior to moving forward with the application. He added that he would be in favor of a motion to
postpone with the recommendation that the developer work with trustees and other neighbors
about what will be built on the lot if the subdivision is approved.
Ms. Riganti suggested that the motion be to postpone until the Plan Commission meeting
scheduled for April 27. Staff will then have time to obtain information from the trustees and the
applicant.
The motion was changed to postponing the hearing until April 27 to give staff time to work with
all parties involved. The motion was seconded by Ms. Carr. The motion was approved by voice
vote.
Hearing: Zoning Map Amendment – 8162 Olive Boulevard
The Chairperson announced the next item was an application for a Zoning Map Amendment.
Applicant is Lu and Zun Xing Li.
Staff provided a slide show of pictures showing the site and surrounding neighborhood.
The applicant, Zun Xing Li, provided an overview of project. He owns two commercial
buildings on Olive including the subject property and LuLu’s Restaurant. He stated that he has
done a lot of work on the buildings he owns. The existing building was formerly Henry
Cleaners. The previous owner let the building get run down. When Mr. Li purchased the
property, only half of the building was used, the rest was vacant. He has been using the second
floor as an apartment.
Questions/comments from the Plan Commission and responses included:
tm; E
